Wenn sich die w\u00e4ssrige Kaliumpermanganatl\u00f6sung in einem sauren Medium befindet, wird das violette Permanganat zum farblosen Mn+2-Kation reduziert. In neutralen L\u00f6sungen wird das Permanganat zu MnO2, Kation +4, reduziert, was zu einem braunen Niederschlag f\u00fchrt. In alkalischen oder basischen L\u00f6sungen wird es schlie\u00dflich bis zum Zustand +7 reduziert, wobei KMnO4 entsteht, das die bekannte violette Farbe von Kaliumpermanganat aufweist.<\/li>\n<li>Es hat auch desinfizierende und desodorierende Eigenschaften.
