Artificial magic snow is a snow that comes in powder form, which absorbs water and looks like realistic snow. With a small packet of powdered snow you will get a large amount of snow. Artificial snow or polymer snow is based on a material called sodium polyacrylate, which is non-toxic. This product is non-toxic and is approved for use as a children's toy by the regulations. European EN71-3 y American ASTM F963-17.
HOW THE MAGIC ARTIFICIAL SNOW WORKS
The way the polymer snow works is very simple. Simply add water on top of the powder and you will see how the snow forms instantly. The amount of water should be 300-500ml per 10 grams of water.
- Take a normal sized glass of water (250ml) and add a teaspoon (which comes inside the packet) of snow.
- Then fill the glass with water.
- Watch the water being absorbed and the snow forming!
- Take the formed snow out of the glass and you will see how, when you take it out of the glass, it takes on the appearance of real snow.
AMOUNT OF SNOW
The amount of snow you can get in each pack is as follows:
- 200g pack of powdered snow: You will get between 11 and 18 litres of snow. It gives you a surface of 1m2 with a snow thickness of 5-10mm. Ideal for group experiments or small decorations.
- 1kg pack of powdered snow: You will get between 53 and 87.5 litres of snow, or 0.09m3. This gives you enough to cover a surface area of 4-5m2 with a 10-15mm layer of snow, up to a surface area of 12m2 with a very thin layer of 5mm. Ideal for large group experiments or decorations.
- 5kg powder snow: You will get between 263 and 437 litres of snow or 0,26-0,44m3. In surface it gives you a surface of 20-30m2 with a snow layer of 10-15mm, up to a surface of 60m2 with a very thin layer of 5mm. Perfect for large decorations.
- 20kg sack of powdered snow: You get between 1-1.3m3 of snow. On a surface area of 40-120m2 with a layer of 10-15m, up to 240m2 with a thin layer of 5mm. For very large areas, or for distributors.
You can play with the quantities yourself with the snow calculator. Please note that there is a very wide range of water in which the powder looks like snow, hence we also give you a range of amounts. In the following section we will explain this range -> SEE CALCULATOR
SNOW CALCULATOR
In order to simplify the calculation of the amount of snow you need, use the snow calculator. You will need to know the area to be covered (e.g. 2m x 2m x 10mm thick) and the calculator will give you the range of snow you need, depending on whether you want it more or less wet:

WATER ABSORPTION
Water absorption is variable, and can absorb from 300ml to 500ml water per 10 grams of product. In this image you can see the differences in the snow depending on the amount of water you add. Adding less water will result in a drier, more powdery snow. At higher amounts of water you will get a wetter snow.

I loved it. Depending on the amount of water that you spray it goes through the different phases of real snow. In winter with the heating it has to be sprayed approximately every two days, depending on the heat, otherwise it becomes grainy but when it gets wet it hydrates again. It can be reused, left to dry and stored in the bag and can be used several times.
